-
All initial courses must be delivered in person to ensure quality and hands-on learning. Trainers can transition to online courses after building confidence and experience.
Courses are limited to a maximum of 8 trainees per session to allow sufficient time for material coverage and personalised instruction. But these numbers can be increased if you work together in pairs or more.
The practical elements Level 1 & 2 must at their core feature the core elements of Hypopressives and be taught with respect to the importance of foundations first.
As a future educator of Hypopressive instructors, your role carries the responsibility of upholding the integrity and depth of the method. The following core elements form the foundation of course delivery and trainer expectations:
1. 360° Breathing & Rib Mobility
You must demonstrate and teach true three-dimensional breath. This includes thoracic expansion, lateral rib glide, and the avoidance of belly or compensatory breathing patterns.
2. Safe and Effective Apnoea
You will be expected to teach the Hypopressive apnoea (breath hold) with precision—distinguishing it clearly from Uddiyana Bandha or Valsalva. Mastery includes cueing the correct exhale, rib lift, and pressure management.
3. Postural Alignment & Decompression
Understanding and transmitting the principles of axial elongation, scapular anchoring, and pelvic neutrality is essential. Future trainers should be able to coach decompression—not collapse—within all poses and transitions.
4. Pressure Management Principles
You must be fluent in explaining intra-abdominal and intra-thoracic pressure dynamics, and how Hypopressives uniquely manage internal load. These principles must underpin all postural and movement progressions taught.
5. Fascial & Myofascial Integration
Trainers must understand the role of fascia and breath in promoting elasticity, glide, and tension release. Cueing should reflect this awareness to create systemic, not isolated, change.
6. Nervous System Regulation
Hypopressives are more than posture—they are a nervous system tool. As a trainer of trainers, you must be able to teach how breath, apnoea, and alignment influence vagal tone, downregulation, and emotional safety.
7. Progressive & Individualised Teaching
A core outcome is the ability to deliver content progressively, adapting to different abilities and learning styles. This includes regressions, contraindications, and postural support strategies.
8. Tactile and Verbal Cueing Mastery
You’ll be expected to model high-quality cueing—both verbal and hands-on. Clarity, empathy, and precision are vital in supporting learning and avoiding over-recruitment or compensation patterns.
9. Professional Ethics & Scope
Trainers of trainers must model professionalism, respect scope of practice, and promote evidence-informed teaching. You are expected to foster body-positive, inclusive environments, referring to clinical support when needed.
10. Respect for the Method’s Evolution
You will be stewarding a method with deep roots and ongoing evolution. We expect all trainers to honour its origins while embracing emerging research, fascia science, trauma-informed practice, and clinical application.
-
To ensure quality and consistency across all Hypopressive training, each of your first two courses at each level will include a minimum of one hour of observation—either online or in person. This is designed to offer constructive feedback and support as you step into your teaching role.
For ongoing quality assurance, one course per year will also be observed for the same duration. Trainees will be asked to provide a recording of the selected section for review and personalised feedback.
Following successful completion and feedback from your initial courses, you are welcome to begin teaching online if you feel confident and ready.
I’m also available to co-facilitate or support any of your courses, either online or in person, for an agreed fee—whether you're looking for collaborative delivery, mentorship, or simply a second pair of eyes.
