Meet my Trainers

Level 1 Hypopressive Instructor

Jill Shooter - Level 1 Instructor

I am a registered osteopath based in Bristol, with over 20 years of clinical experience working with a wide variety of patients, from elite athletes to local schoolteachers. However, my main focus has always been women and their health journey—through pregnancy, the postnatal months, the hormonal transitions of midlife, and supporting 0musculoskeletal health into later life.

The biomechanics of commonly prescribed Kegels, or pelvic floor exercises, like any exercise, are intended to promote muscle health and tone. However, the majority of women coming to see me had pelvic floors that were too tight (hypertonic), exacerbating pelvic health issues such as weakness, painful intimacy, leakage, and incontinence—often accepted as “just one of those women’s things.”

My daily caseload included vibrant young women dealing with the effects of birth trauma; strong, active women in their middle years struggling with prolapse symptoms; and women feeling shame about wearing pads daily or needing to plan their outings around access to public toilets.

In searching for a better way to support these women, I discovered Hypopressive techniques, which are more commonly used in mainland Europe. Suddenly, it all made much more sense.

Personally, as a mum of four, I am very aware of the stresses and strains that pregnancy and childbirth place on the pelvic floor. Through Hypopressives practice, I was able to return to running after the hormonal shifts of menopause made pelvic heaviness uncomfortable, and I learned to manage a previously undiagnosed grade 2 cystocele (bladder prolapse).

Breathwork, balance, muscles, fascia, and movement are all cornerstones of osteopathic practice, and I am excited to bring together Hypopressives and my osteopathic knowledge to support the women of Bristol.

Vicki - level 1 - Hypopressive Teacher

Vicki McCordall - Level 1 Instructor

Vicki McCordall is an experienced yoga teacher and breathing coach based in Gloucestershire, UK.  Having practiced yoga throughout her life, she focuses on re-connecting with the body, regaining mobility, balance and strength, all whilst keeping the breathing steady.

In 2021 Vicki qualified as an Advanced Breathing Instructor with Oxygen Advantage, giving her a good understanding of functional breathing and its profound influence on our health, such as relieving stress/anxiety, improving sleep and assisting mental clarity/focus.

In 2024 she started to experience some minor stress incontinence when doing physical activities such as running and jumping, which lead her to training in the Hypopressives breathing method after managing to reverse her symptoms.  In November 2025 Vicki trained with Lucy Warwick of Bristol/Dorset Hypopressives, and found the course gave her the full package, i.e. postural alignment, in depth physiological breathing understanding including intra-abdominal pressure, and postures that work with the nervous system and fascial tension release.

Sharing this technique with some of her yoga students and gaining positive results, Vicki now offers 1 to 1 sessions, which you can book via her website:
